Low-quality thumbnails affect video identification

Are software thumbnails this blurry now? They’re basically useless for identification. Some videos have watermarks and some don’t, so I can’t tell them apart by the thumbnails at all. Sigh. It would be great if this could be optimized.

In settings you can change the thumbnails size or simply click on the thumbnail comparer button for a fullsize thumbnail comparison.

After adjusting this setting, the image becomes clearer, but the image size is too small now and fixed.
The thumbnail comparator can clearly compare differences between two videos side by side.
It would be great if you could optimize it to support deleting videos directly while comparing.

If you adjust the column width of the thumbnail the image gets bigger

I understand now. I thought the image size was fixed because it was too small before.
Now after reducing the number of thumbnails, adjusting the column width works properly.
Besides, changes to thumbnail settings seem to take effect only after restarting the software.

I use and recommend a great tool video-compare to easily compare duplicates at large size. It's lightweight and works seamlessly with VDF; all you need to do is call it as your custom command for 'OpenMultiple'.

My main use for VDF is identifying the most original/highest quality version to keep, and squinting at thumbnails just doesn't cut it. I wrote out a how-to in a comment on an issue here: #696 (comment)
