Interesting that scaling up results in slightly worse performance 383ms per statement for the smaller one and 429ms per statement on the larger one.

This makes me wonder if it would make sense to shrink to an even smaller circuit by default, so that small proofs would be faster and larger proofs would not be much slower than they are now.
