I am working on a small static site (7 pages) for a client. I have looked at some tutorials for NetlifyCMS, and I love the live preview editor it provides. I am trying to set up the website so the client can edit her website’s pages using this fantastically lightweight CMS.
Collections vs. …Collections (?)
11ty Collections
I am comfortable working with 11ty Collections. I would probably describe my comfort level as middling—but I’m confident I could probably figure out any issue I encountered with 11ty Collections on my own (or with a search or two).
That said, I suspect it might possible to do some advanced stuff with 11ty Collections, but I haven’t delved into anything like that. I’m just cool with the basics.
NetlifyCMS Collections
I’m still pretty much a novice with NetlifyCMS. (I have read and watched tutorials about NetlifyCMS Collections.) But if I understand correctly, NetlifyCMS Collections operate pretty much independently of 11ty Collections.
The Problem
AFAICT, NetlifyCMS only allows the live-preview editing feature for items in a NetlifyCMS Collection.
I want to be able to have the client use that awesome live-preview editor for regular pages.
Is it possible to use some sort of clever setup to use 11ty Collections to “trick” NetlifyCMS into allowing the live-preview editor?
