Phase 5 uses F16, Q8_0, and Q4_K_M files from the same official Qwen/Qwen2.5-0.5B-Instruct-GGUF repository at immutable revision 9217f5db79a29953eb74d5343926648285ec7e67. Exact filenames, byte sizes, SHA-256 values, base-model identity, and parameter count are recorded in configs/models/quantization_models.yaml.
Download or verify all three with:
.venv/bin/python scripts/download_model.py --config configs/models/quantization_models.yamlDownloads stream into .part files and resume with HTTP Range requests. Existing files are hashed before reuse. Stored sidecar metadata contains no absolute local path, and any identity, byte-size, or checksum mismatch is a hard error.
The CPU baseline uses the official Qwen2.5-0.5B-Instruct GGUF release. It is a small, public, instruction-tuned model suitable for repeated CPU measurements.

From the repository root, download it with:
.venv/bin/python scripts/download_model.py \
Qwen/Qwen2.5-0.5B-Instruct-GGUF \
qwen2.5-0.5b-instruct-q4_k_m.ggufThe downloader streams into a .part file, resumes through HTTP ranges when the server supports them, rejects empty or truncated responses, and writes models/qwen2.5-0.5b-instruct-q4_k_m.gguf.metadata.json. Verify the downloaded artifact independently with:
sha256sum models/qwen2.5-0.5b-instruct-q4_k_m.ggufCompare the output with the sha256 field in the metadata JSON. Model artifacts are not committed because they are large generated inputs with a stable public source; models/ is ignored by Git. This also keeps repository history small and makes acquisition and integrity verification explicit and reproducible.
