Exciting news! With iWeb version 0.4.8, we're introducing a brand new feature that extends your iWeb experience beyond the browser. Now, you can use iWeb as a homepage extension on Chrome, making your browsing even more seamless.

🌐 Chrome Extension Support (Beta)

• 🚀 NEW: iWeb is now available as a Chrome extension (beta)! Download the extension file from our GitHub Releases and effortlessly set iWeb as your homepage without any additional settings.

⚙️ Currently Available for Chrome

• 🛠️ While this extension update is currently supported on Chrome (beta), stay tuned! We're actively working to extend support to Firefox, Edge, Safari, and other browsers in future releases.

🚀 Installing iWeb Chrome Extension (Beta)

Enhance your browsing experience by using iWeb as a homepage extension on Chrome! Follow these simple steps to get started:

🛠 Prerequisites

Make sure you have the latest version of Google Chrome installed on your computer because we use manifest version 3 which is not supported by old chrome browsers.

📥 Installation Steps

1. Navigate to Chrome Extensions:

   • Open a new tab in Google Chrome.
   • Click on the three vertical dots in the top-right corner to open the menu.
   • Select "More tools" and then click on "Extensions."

2. Enable Developer Mode:

   • In the Extensions tab, find the toggle switch for "Developer mode" at the top-right corner.
   • Enable Developer mode by toggling the switch to the right.

3. Load Unpacked Extension:

   • Once Developer mode is enabled, additional options will appear.
   • Click on the "Load unpacked" button.

4. Select iWeb Extension Folder:

   • A file dialog will open. Navigate to the folder where you downloaded and extracted the iWeb extension files from our GitHub Releases.
   • Select the folder and click "Select Folder."

5. Verify Extension Installation:

   • The iWeb extension will now be listed below in the Extensions tab.

6. Close Extension Tab:

   • Close the Extensions tab to complete the installation.

7. Enjoy iWeb on Every New Tab:

   • Open a new tab, and voilà! Experience iWeb as your homepage with the new extension.
