Zulip/Slack 2nd gateway Zulip messages not sending to Slack

I set up a bridge between Slack and Zulip. In the case of the first channel/topic gateway everything works as expected. However, in the case of the second channel/topic gateway the Slack messages are sent to Zulip but the Zulip messages are not sent to slack. There isnt even an entry for the missing message in the logs when running matterbridge with the -debug flag. Does anyone have any ideas on what is causing this? Did I make a mistake somewhere? Is this a bug? Thank you for your help. I tried to be through but let me know if more information is needed.

Here we can see the gateway working for the Zulip techops topic.

And here we can see everything makes it over to the Slack side.

But when I try to set up a gateway another channel/topic pair, the Slack messages make it to Zupip but the Zulip messages do not make it to slack.

In the logs we expect to see a log entry for a the Zulip/Adcom general to Slack#zulip-bridge gateway between log entry [0040] and [0139]. However it is not there and the message never makes it to the zulip-bridge Slack channel.

Which version of Matterbridge are you using when you see the issue? There's an issue with similar-looking symptoms at #1047, but that was believed to be fixed in d5feda5, which was released in v1.18.2.

Is your Zulip bot properly subscribed to the stream?

This was it. I needed to subscribe the bridge-bot to the adcom stream. Thank you for the reminder.

@42wim looks like the wiki section on Zulip doesn't tell people to subscribe to the relevant stream: https://github.com/42wim/matterbridge/wiki/Section-Zulip-%28basic%29. Alternatively, the code can check if the bot is actually subscribed to the stream, and raises an error if it doesn't.

I've just updated the wiki so it says to be sure to subscribe the bot to the relevant stream.
