What’s a common way attackers bypass 2FA? #225
|
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds a vital security layer, but it’s not foolproof. Attackers often bypass 2FA using phishing pages that mimic real login screens, tricking users into entering both their password and the one-time code. Another method is SIM swapping, where the attacker hijacks your phone number to intercept OTPs. In some cases, malware or session hijacking is used to steal tokens after the user logs in. So while 2FA is important, combining it with anti-phishing awareness and app-based authenticators (like Google Authenticator) is key to staying secure. |
