Found image. Conversion to PNG failed.

Running clip2dataurl with every image I tried (and I tried a lot) I receive the message
Found image (width x heigt). Conversion to PNG failed.
I loaded the project into VisualStudio 2019, built and tried to debug clip2dataurl.cpp. But I was not able to make the debugger stop in main() - it just won't stop on any breakpoint although VS shows the breakpoint(s) as active.
Therefor I'm not able to find out why Conversion to PNG failed.
Does it work for somebody else?

Could you provide the real data you experimented with?

Please also provide: Windows version. What exactly did you do to copy a file or file data to the clipboard?

Used IrfanView to open the file, Edit / Copy, then called clip2dataurl.exe from command line or used VS for debugging.

Thanks. Probably IrfanView copies image data to the clipboard in a proprietary format. I'll try to reproduce it. But it'll take time …

What happens if you select the file in Windows Explorer and press Ctrl+C to copy it to the clipboard?

When I select the file in Windows Explorer and press Ctrl+C to copy it to the clipboard I receive the message No image or file or text in clipboard. from clip2dataurl.exe. Same happens if I Ctrl+C / copy the preview image shown in Explorer instead. Same when I use "Windows-Fotoanzeige" or "Fotogalerie".

But - when I open the image in the Windows "Fotos" App (Microsoft.Photos.exe) and copy from there, clip2dataurl.exe works as expected.
It also works when I open the image in "Paint 3D", "paint.net", or SumatraPDF. The latter seems to increase the graphic (Found image (1764x1988). Data URL copied to clipboard. instead of 489x551) which leads to a rather lengthy data URL.

When I open the image in LibreOffice Draw and copy from there, clip2dataurl.exe seems to work (says Found file. Data URL copied to clipboard. but clipboard content is data:application/binary;base64,AAAAAGEAXAA= (= nonsense).

When I open the file in Paint and try clip2dataurl.exe it reports Found file. Assertion failed: len <= total_size, file I:\Thomas\Sammlung\Computer\Programming\Visual Studio 2012\Projects\clip2data2clip\3rdparty\clip\clip_win.cpp, line 402.
