This is something i (and i believe others too, albeit not with this idea in mind) have complained about ever since the baseplate entities enforce a single and unique baseplate.
I can imagine two types of tow/hooks:
- Fixed: Just like a ballsocket, with a limited rotational arc, unhooks itself if exceeds said limits. It should hook up automatically upon close contact of the two entities.
- Rope: Loose, just like a rope, used to tow tanks. Can be multiple of these, but must require some sort of mechanism for players to request towing assistance, and hooking up upon getting to a reasonable distance.
I reckon that this would require CFW changes, alongside with the whole premise of exploitability issues that would arise; For this i would suggest forbidding contraptions of the same player from being able to be hooked up but only for the "rope" type of hook. "Fixed" can only have one entity being towed, which too have to be ACF baseplated.
These would follow kind of a Main/Towed relationship.
