An exciting week of events (1–5 June 2026) for representatives from business, academia, public administration and civil society is now behind us. Over 600 participants took part in the 5th Data Week Leipzig to exchange ideas and network across more than 70 programme items focusing on data, digitalisation, artificial intelligence and sustainable urban development. Highlights included keynote speeches by Prof. Dr Dirk Baecker and Dr Martin Brynskov, as well as the 14th Leipzig Semantic Web Day, which provided insights into the latest developments in semantic technologies. Other highlights included the KMI Transfer Day and the track ‘Between Engagement and Algorithms’, which explored the responsible use of digital technologies in non-profit organisations. The event concluded with the ‘Open Lab Day’, which featured various labs in Leipzig city centre, inviting visitors to explore, get involved and network.
