Means, here is the median. You can see in the individual plots that many people were consistently slower in the control condition. Might mean people lose focus when it doesn't change position. Maybe the control trials go further to the left/right of the screen than the flexion trials so it is harder to see the gabor patch change (though the accuracy data doesn't really support that).

why is there a zig zag in the control condition for negative SOAs? its cool there is an increase in RT for the difficult to detect changes as well.

I am not sure. It happens across most subjects, but it might not be statistically significant. It might match accuracy except there is a ceiling effect for the control condition so it is hard to tell. Could run the experiment again with larger SOAs and see if there is still the zig zag or it stabilizes. Could add catch trials where nothing rotates and see if the RT speeds up or slows down.

yeah not sure that would be interesting, perhaps you should reach out to katherine wood and see if she is going to vss and you can plan out some new directions?
