[BUG] Aider file suggestions don't work if the file isn't checked into git

When using /add the file suggestion menu shows a list of files. Often, when I'm working on a new feature and create a file, it does not appear in the suggestion menu until I check in the file to Git.

That's not a bug. It's a very handy feature that prevents losing work and makes role back during a series of chagne a lot lot easier. It's fundamental to the design of aider.

I understand that Git integration is pretty fundamental to Aider (considering that the undo command also doesn't work with it turned off) but I fail to see how file suggestions are something that should be sourced from Git rather than the actual directory.

I would also like to have suggestions for files that aren’t checked in. This is a UX issue I face regularly in my workflow, since I usually create the files myself with a basic structure, interface or idea to help the LLM. Of course, I always commit significant work and I understand the risk of adding a non-checked-in file to aider, and I bet any moderately competent developer does too. If security is a concern, it could be an optional feature disabled by default.
