VERITAS is dual‑licensed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 (GPL‑3.0) and a separate Commercial License. The GPL‑3.0 license applies to all open‑source, humanitarian, academic, and government disaster agency use. The Commercial License is required for proprietary, closed‑source, or OEM integration that does not comply with GPL‑3.0 terms.
VERITAS was submitted to the UNDP Accelerator Lab Prize (April 2026) as an open‑source public good. The platform is designed to serve communities in crisis, humanitarian responders, and government disaster agencies.
UNDP, UN agencies, government disaster response organizations, and humanitarian NGOs may use, modify, and deploy VERITAS under the GPL‑3.0 license without any commercial licensing obligation. The platform is a gift to the crisis response community.
The Commercial License exists solely to enable sustainable funding through proprietary commercial use cases that fall outside GPL‑3.0 terms. Revenue from commercial licenses supports ongoing development and ensures the platform remains freely available to those who need it most.
You must obtain a Commercial License if:
- You are a commercial entity (e.g., insurance company, private emergency management firm, real estate analytics provider) and you intend to embed VERITAS in a proprietary, closed‑source product.
- You are a hardware manufacturer or OEM and you intend to bundle VERITAS with devices distributed under a non‑GPL license.
