Re-installing/Fresh-Install :

check extensions settings

go to "settings" then "Files and Links" :

Default location for new notes : same folder as current file

Default location for new attachments : subfolder under current folder

show all file types : on

Automatically update internal links : on

New link format option : shortest path when possible

Use Wikilinks : Turn it OFF

Highlight colors

Bring color to your notes with six highlight colors.

  • Add a color emoji (🔴, 🟠, 🟡, 🟢, 🔵, 🟣) at the start of a highlight, or choose a color from the formatting menu.
  • Typing == in the editor now suggests highlight colors.
  • Live Preview: When the cursor overlaps a highlight, an inline swatch now appears. Click it to quickly change the highlight color.

obsidian is markdown note taking software, it doesn’t store the image inside the text files of your notes (since it’s just a text file) so it has to store the image files somewhere, most just keep them all in an attachments folder
