Creating a link via the menu doesn't work if there is no selection

If I create a link via the link button, it either:

• If it's in a new line: Appends it, after closing the Edit Link dialogue, to the end of the previous line
• If it's in a new paragraph: Just disappears after closign the Edit Link dialogue

Using v.0.6.2
