Add a new line in mpd module

Is there a proper way to have a 2 line message in a module

doing this in the mpd:

"mpd": { "format": "{stateIcon} {artist:.20} \n {title:.20}"}

gives me an enter symbol instead of a new line.

I found issue #1698 but the solution is not working in the mpd module.
