One more thing that could be added to Tax section is ELSTER guide. At least for simple cases it's actually not that difficult to use it with a bit of help.
There are now two ELSTER interfaces:
- Classic Mein ELSTER: elster.de
- Modern simplified UI: einfachelsterplus.de
For tax cases of single employees it's fairly easy nowadays to use einfachELSTERplus. It's got similar web interface to tax apps (like Wundertax or Taxfix), and it includes more guidance and explanations. Just for now it's still only limited to unmarried users, and without kids.
Then for cases that aren't supported in einfachELSTERplus, traditional ELSTER has also become quite a bit easier to use as they implemented "ELSTER Assistant" - which means in the beginning they are asking a set of questions to pre-select only relevant forms for the case. So users no longer need to spend time reasoning about which forms are relevant for them.
This might be better to put into a new guide, as Tax software section is already long enough.
