@BobW55 Bob, you're asking if you can take the SD card from the 4 GB Pi and put it in an 8 GB Pi? For the next release of Allsky, which we hope to start user testing soon, we're recommending that people start with a fresh install of the latest Pi operating system (called Bullseye). We believe it'll make support easier if people are running the same software. So, my suggestion would be get another SD card for the 8 GB Pi and load Bullseye on it. |

Why upgrade from a 4 gig pi to 8 gig pi ? You can move the SD card from one pi to another but sometimes WiFi will fail to start so from a direct cable connection or keyboard/display run sudo raspi-config to enter the WiFi setup and make sure the country code is correct. In my experience its only the network MAC address that is different in each Pi. (ifconfig , iwconfig) . Sent from my iPadOn Nov 26, 2022, at 4:41 PM, EricClaeys ***@***.***> wrote:

My gut tells me "no" since there's probably something in hardware that's different, e.g., a serial number, and when the software sees the new thing it'll complain. But, it might work. I don't know enough about Linux and Pi's.

I wouldn't think so, but do I need to reload everything if I am just upgrading to a higher GB Pi?
