[V2024] Errors after while

After running version V2024.xx.xy a while i get these errors.

*** capture_RPi: ERROR: maximum number of consecutive errors of 4 reached; capture program stopped. Total errors=8. (September 14, 10:45:17 pm CEST)

All cables are connected. RPI dont get overheatted. No memory overload, No throttleing. Using an RPI 4b 8gb model with HQ Camera.

When i check rpidebug.txt it stays:

And puts allsky in a down state. I need to manual start allsky (service) to get it running again.

Oxize, Other people have reported the same problem and it's an issue with the libcamera software, not Allsky, which means there's nothing I can do about it.

Please create an Issue on the rpicam-apps Issue page and reference their Issue 555. Take a look at that Issue and provide all the info that team requested when you create a new Issue.

Post that Issue number in this thread so I can follow it.
Please keep in mind that team doesn't know Allsky so don't mention any Allsky-related files or commands.

Please can you give more details on this. There could be several reasons for your error. What rpicam-apps command line are you running? Have you modified anything in config.txt or any other configuration file? Can you reproduce this error outside of the allsky software?

To get the rpicam-apps command line, run grep Running: /var/log/allsky.log. The rpicam application is either libcamera-still or rpicam-still. Allsky calls one of those commands to take the picture, passing various things to it like the exposure time to use (the "shutter" speed).

If you don't know what the "config.txt" file is, you probably didn't change it, but to be sure, please run ls -l /boot/config.txt /boot/*/config.txt and let me know what it says.

You can put the output in a file by running:

grep Running: /var/log/allsky.log > /tmp/running.txt

You can then look at, or attach /tmp/running.txt.

The last line of your output indicates that the log file is binary, not text. Would you please attach the log file?

Output config.txt. I think that is standard. Never messed with that.

Running.txt isnt visible in samba.

You can run

cd
grep Running: /var/log/allsky.log > running.txt

And the file will be in /home/pi

My samba doesnt go so deep. My samba sits under allsky.

Sorry for the late reply. I should have remembered that Allsky's Samba installation only exports the pi_home directory. Glad you figured it out.
