The installation fails with the messages below. I poked around trying to figure out what was happening but failed.

Interesting, I've never seen company in a model name. Yours is: company ASI120MC which is causing the problem.
Please ATTACH ~/allsky/config/logs/install.log and ~/allsky/config/connected_cameras.txt.

Also, please post the results of:

After pocking around, I think the issue is with function get_connected_cameras_info()
It contains a parser for the output of lsusb. The script assumes the iManufacturer field for ZWO cameras includes a single word, but in this case, the manufacturer name is 'ZWOptical company'. The script will treat each word as a separate field, breaking the logic that expects iManufacturer to be a single word.
Perhaps I can hardcode the model variable to 'ZWO 0 ASI120MC', for now, and see if I can go further.

@nikivan1, how old is your camera? I've never seen "ZWOptical company" before.
Hardcoding the model should workaround the problem, but the fix I'd implement would be to check for "ZWOptical company" and if found, replace with "ZWO".
I haven't looked at the code, but if you know how to code the fix, please attach it and I'll include it in v2024.xx.xx before it's official.

The camera is pretty old. It has been working flawlessly for 4+ years with an early version of AllSky on a RPi 2. Recently, the SD card died, so I've decided to start fresh with the latest branch.
Confirming that hardcoding the camera model works, and I was able to install and run the software. As for an actual fix, I have tried a code snipped suggested by ChatGPT, but it didn't work (no output to connected_cameras.txt). Sorry.

No problem on the fix - I haven't had a chance to look at the code, but I expect the fix will be a one-liner.

You can test it by executing allsky-config then selecting 2. Show connected cameras.

Thanks, Eric. It seems to work. I'd suggest the code to be updated so it can handle multi-word fields, regardless of the brand name. But for now, it should be okay.
