NVME SSD for Pi 4 boot drive

Right now my setup is using a 256GB SD card. That being said I would prefer to use a SSD since in the past sd cards haven’t been very reliable probably just bad luck on my part. Does anyone have a usb 3 to nvme adapter they have used successfully for this? I seem to not be having luck with adapters and rather not waste more money on a lost cause if it is one.

You don't say if you are using a pi4 or 5 but since you mention ssd I am assume its not a pi5

Thank you, sorry I missed that line on the copy and paste when I posted the question. I am on mobile currently but the Pi in question is a 4. I also just started looking into powering by poe as well. I do like the look of that geek pi board you linked on amazon.

I ended up having to use the board below due to space constraints in the camera container after measuring. I guess I was just having some bad luck with other adapters and boards I was trying. Thank you for the suggestion which led to finding this board.
