Module Manager proglem

Hi Eric and all...
Every now and then for no apparent reason during random times, the module manager drops display of the overlay showing only a sky view with no labels or anything on screen. To fix it I have to go into the module manager and reset to configuration defaults. Note that I do NOT have any of the left side modules selected other than the defaults. So no experimental modules etc... I have:

Loads the latest image
Loads the last captured image

then
Overlay data on the image is checked as it should be
[if I click settings I get one field that says Format error text and it has "??" in it

then
Saves the image

How do I prevent this from happening? Can I check some log somewhere?

Few things to try/check

• Are you running the latest release? In prior releases there was a watchdog timer available in the module manager that would disable modules that would take a long time to run. If you have this option, click on the cog icon in the module manager and see if its in there
• If its not the watchdog and you have the latest version can you use the support option and post the generated zip file
• If its not the watchdog and not the latest version then have a look in /var/log/allsky.log and see if there are any errors, you may have to set the debug level to 4 in the main allsky settings
