How do I get moon infos on my Allsky Camera?

While the sun info like rising and setting work correctly, I do not get this info for the moon, although there are corresponding variables and I have included them in the overlay editor. How can I check where the error is?

Please run truncate -s 0 /var/log/allsky.log temporarily change the "Debug Level" to 4 in the WebUI.
After a couple bad images, attach /var/log/allsky.log and restore the Debug Level" to what it was before.

it looks like it can not download a file from nasa.gov because of a certifivate error.
Download that file in my browser works well. So i wonder if it is possible to save the donwloaded file to my SDCard.

Nope. That so called workaround does not work!

Which workaround in that Issue did you try? There are several:

1. If ~/allsky-OLD/config/overlay/config/tmp/overlay/de421.bsp exists, copy it to ~/allsky/config/overlay/config/tmp/overlay.
2. My post from Feb 15 where I included the de421.bsp file.
3. cd ~/allsky/config/overlay/config/tmp/overlay; wget --no-check-certificate https://ssd.jpl.nasa.gov/ftp/eph/planets/bsp/de421.bsp

Please run ls -l ~/allsky/config/overlay/config/tmp/overlay. If de421.bsp isn't there, there the 3 workarounds above didn't work. If the file IS there, please attach /var/log/allsky.log.

I have made some progress but have not yet reached my goal.
Copying to the directory using SFTP does not seem to work. At least four moon variables appear with wget. These are AS_MOON_SYMBOL, AS_MOON_ELEVATION,AS_MOON_AZIMUT and AS_MOON_ILLUMINATION. However, the rising and setting times are missing.

What did you try to copy using SFTP? And to what directory? Did the copy itself not work, or it worked but didn't solve the problem of moon data not showing?

I did update today to _02 and it appears the bug is still there. Will check tomorrow if the de421.bsp is there were it should be

Did a complete fresh installation of _02.
de421.bsp is in the required directory but the overlay of sun and moon data is not shown.

Please run grep ERROR /var/log/allsky.log.

Now I made it work, did not realize you need to enable the sun and moon boxes in the Overlay Editor Options :-).

Glad you got it working. You are not the only one who had trouble with those checkboxes, so we're making it easier in the next release.

The command didn't find any ERROR messages because there were no errors. Not checking those boxes isn't an error.
