I have been running my Allsky for a while and have built up quite a library of various night sky pics. I noticed this https://github.com/chvvkumar/simpleCloudDetect and gave it a go. I have Home Assistant (HA) at my place and have managed to get reasonably accurate notifications on clouds that can impact my Astrophotography. So basically, simpleClouddetect uses a model of my night sky, determines what it can see from Allsky and sends an MQTT payload to HA. HA looks for certain payloads and in my case, clear, clear with moon and partly cloudy are the important ones. A HA automation sends a Telegram notification and the current Allsky Image and it works nicely. I only want notifications at certain times say dusk to about 10 PM.
