Is there general advice on how to approach fixing bugs with specific sites?

I'd like to make a PR against this repo to support hackernews, but I'm not sure the best way to do this. My initial thought was to write an override for a specific site, as you do for google news here but I'm not sure that's the right approach given you don't have many overrides in this repo.

Does it make more sense to update the core article extraction logic instead? I'm not sure ChatGPT's response was in line with the vision here
