Mac binaries does not have mac libraries

The Sonoma binaries don't have the Mac dynamic libraries anymore. Now users have to use brew to install gd and netcdf. Can the libraries be added back in or is this how Sonoma does it?

A feature of "homebrew" is that on Sonoma it places its libraries in a different place when on Apple Silicon from Intel - since I currently dont have a mac with Apple Silicon processor I have not been able to work out where it puts these libs so I could adjust the macos/macpkg.sh script accordingly.

UPDATED:
I thought that I had found a workaround to this. Unfortunately, the model wouldn't run using glmpy.

This is what I tried:

When I clone this repo and assign my glm_path to https://github.com/AquaticEcoDynamics/glm-aed/blob/main/binaries/macos/Sonoma/glm_latest/glm, I get "Library not loaded" errors for the libraries listed above.

However, if I unzip this file, https://github.com/AquaticEcoDynamics/glm-aed/blob/main/binaries/macos/Sonoma/glm_3.3.3_macos_Sonoma.zip, I get a glm.app that contains all the binaries in a hidden way.

In Finder, I can right click on the glm.app file to "Show Package Contents" to see all the other required libraries.

So when I specify the following with glmpy, I no longer get an error message, but the model does not appear to run.

glm_path = '~/glm-aed/binaries/macos/Sequoia/glm.app/Contents/MacOS/glm'

Any ideas on this "silent" error?

I'm pinging this issue again as I still have not found a solution for running GLM on my Mac (M3 ARM) running MacOS Sequoia 15.6.

I have followed the guidance at https://aquaticecodynamics.github.io/glm-workbook/running-glm.html#running-glm-alternative-method to Show Package Contents for the glm.app (i.e. ../glm-aed/binaries/macos/Sequoia/glm.app/Contents/MacOS/glm extracted from glm_3.3.3_macos_Sonoma.zip.

This doesn't work when I run it from the terminal from the simulation directory. I get a killed response.

@rqthomas & @casper-boon, have you gotten this to work for anyone?

BTW, all of the following files are in the same directory as the glm file (i.e. ../glm-aed/binaries/macos/Sequoia/glm.app/Contents/MacOS/. They should get found, right?

@casper-boon, I did a bit more digging and found this error in my Console log:

Termination Reason:    Namespace CODESIGNING, Code 2 Invalid Page

I tried to resign it using the guidance from https://eclecticlight.co/2023/06/05/what-to-do-when-an-app-crashes-as-it-opens/, but got the following:

% codesign --sign - /Applications/glm.app 
/Applications/glm.app: code object is not signed at all

So it seems like it might need a valid developer signature from your team?

Let me know if it would be helpful to share the full Console log, which is quite long.
