Fan speed data as presented over MQTT appears to not be a number

It's been a while since I did anything like this so I can't remember the exact terms, but the compressor frequency is presented as a number (and therefore is graphed by Home Assistant), but the fan speed appears to be presented as a string or similar (and therefore is not graphed by HA).

That shows exactly the same issue. The fan RPM isn't being graphed, same as mine.

This is because there is no unit_of_measurement or state_class set on the entity as part of the HA autodiscovery message.

You could add an HA helper to get around it. I've created one to avoid my fan RPM as displaying as 425 whenever the fan is off (as discussed in #191 (comment)) and added the state_class and unit at the same time:
