[BUG] - Atlas v0.5.0 / 25H2 - Explorer keeps restarting

Description

Basically every time i right click in an image, txt, exe, cfg, etc my explorer restarts.
This problem was present in v0.5.0 rc5 and currently i just noticed the same problem is present in v0.5.0 release.
I only faced this problem after using "Anydesk" (i didn't installed anydesk, i simply executed it).
I already restarted my computer but the problem is always present.
I also ran the AME + playbook again and even so it didn’t fix it.

Steps to reproduce

1. Download Anydesk
2. Run Anydesk (do not install it).
3. Connect to another computer using anydesk

Expected behavior

The explorer should not restart when we right click an image, txt, exe, cfg, etc.

Actual behavior

The explorer restarts when we right click an image, txt, exe, cfg, etc.

Atlas Version

Atlas v0.5.0 for Windows 11 25H2

Desktop information

-Processor: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D
-Ram: GSkill 32GB DDR5
-Storage: Samsung 950 Pro
-GPU: MSI RTX 5080 Gaming Trio

It is not hardware-related, because several users have the same problem with different specifications.

@cyberlimbo Can you provide the event viewer's logs of this happening? I'm not able to recreate the issue on my end.

got the same issue.
Happens, when i right click a file (not folder) or when i try to open a zip File.
Here is a log created while the explorer closes (i repaced some infos with *):

i also get
The shell stopped unexpectedly and C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe was restarted.
and
An attempt was made to query the existence of a blank password for an account. (might be after the crash for the restart)

Could you answer these questions so I can get a better understanding of the issue?

1. What installation method did you use? (ISO Injection, upgrade from 0.4.1, regular playbook installation method)
2. Does this still happen after you remove AnyDesk?
3. Does this always happen, or is it something that occurs sometimes
4. Does this happen when another computer is connected on the PC, or does it start to happen immediately after opening/installing AnyDesk
5. Does this occur with any other app

1. i used the regular playbook installation. But i have to say, i used a custom autounattend.xml
2. i never had AnyDesk installed.
3. i have the installation for ~2 Weeks. At the beginning all was fine. But at a certain point, since then, it happens always.
4. (see question 2.)
5. right click on a shortcut app on the desktop does not work. (Steam apps [these are only url links afaik] do work).
