The mass noun linter flags present participles, wrongly assuming they are gerunds. #1994

Description

What got flagged?

receiving a working direct link in return

Why is this incorrect?

While the -ing form of a verb can act as a gerund, and gerunds are mass nouns, the -ing form of a verb can also be a present participle, which behaves as an adjective. Here "working" is a qualifier for "direct link".
