Can't type after clicking on the highlighted word

Describe the bug
I see a highlighted word and know how to fix this, but Harper doesn't allow me to type to fix the error manually, I can only choose from the predefined options.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Open the demo on the frontpage: https://writewithharper.com/
2. Click by mouse on the "misspellled" word that us highlighted by red, precisely on the redundant "l".
3. Press "del" on the keyboard to remove it.
   Actual result: nothing happens, because a popup appeared that blocks typing.
   So, I can't use keyboard to type at all!

Expected behavior
The app should allow fixing the word manually, in addition to suggestions in the popup.
Could you please fix this? Thank you!

Rechecked the issue with the new release, and it is still reproducible, not only on Firefox, but on Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers too.

The way I use it is to press escape first and then the letter(s) I want to enter.

Yes, me too, but it is very inconvenient! And, actually, this is not only the extension, just opening a web page with the demo without any extension reproduces this issue too.
