Add setting to switch direction of autoplay

Description

Hi, first of all, excellent app, I've switched to it recently and it's genuinely great!! One feature that sets it apart for me compared to for example AntennaPod is autoplay as I tend to binge podcasts.

The one thing I think it is missing and I would love to see is to be able to change the direction of autoplay. The way it works (as far as I understand) is that when the end of an episode is reached the "next" episode of that same podcast is played if there is one (skipping archived ones etc.) with "next" meaning the one underneath it in the list of episodes and it respects whatever sorting one selects (that is great). It would be great if there was (ideally a podcast specific) setting that would change "next" to be the episode above the current one.

This would be very useful for me as I often like to have newest episodes of a podcast on top, however when playing I would like the episodes to play chronologically and thus upwards instead of downwards. This seems like it should be a pretty simple feature (though I'm sure it's more complex in practice).

I personally would push for more a global setting to set podcasts at a specific sort order

Thinking outside the box. To achieve this right now you can create a smart playlist for a single podcast, set it to reverse order, and play an episode from that playlist. Autoplay playback will follow the playlist order. Though it can get a bit awkward with archiving episodes as they won't be available in the playlist after getting archived.

@CookieyedCodes - fair enough though I don't really see a relation to this? Also I don't think I agree, being able to set different orders for different podcasts is something I use all the time.

@MiSikora Thanks for the tip! I tried to do this but I wasn't quite able to do it. I made a smart playlist which just adds all episodes of only one podcast as you suggest. But that then behaves exactly as autoplay does within a podcast outside a playlist, if I sort the playlist as newest on top it plays the episodes "anti-chronologically". If I sort as oldest on top then the episodes play chronologically but I have to scroll past hundreds of old episodes which I haven't heard (so not archived) but don't plan to right now (but might want to later so I don't just archive them). Am I missing something?

I see it more as the ability to being able to globally set the way to Hamburger podcasts as you can use auto play with the podcast set to oldest to newest to consume the oldest episodes while staying on top of the latest with add to upnext, and using archive to ignore any episodes you don't want to listen too

Yes we can do this with currently with playlists and it is easier now with multiselect add to playlist, I just want a global setting to make it faster so I don't have to flip the order ever time 😂

Oh I understand now, that does make sense and would work pretty well for me though I do think that having this podcast specific would be a little better as there are podcast where I want a different listening order. Though I do worry if that is asking for a lot of work, if so I still wonder if just adding a "reverse autoplay order" button should be as simple as it gets while getting some functionality out of it.

Oh to be clear I would likely have the behavior to flip the order globally for all Luke the group settings and then it can be locally set independently
