Hope to support drag-and-drop sorting for notes. #1719

Description

I hope to see support for drag-and-drop sorting of notes, which would involve pressing and holding to drag notes within the list (or perhaps adding a button on the side of each note to facilitate dragging, or any other interactive method) to alter and memorize the sequence of notes, rather than relying solely on fixed keys such as time or title for sorting.

Additionally, there is a detail to consider: if drag-and-drop sorting were indeed supported, the existing configuration options could be utilized to automatically determine the position where new notes are created.

What

Currently, note sorting supports automatic ordering by modification time, creation time, or name. However, I am studying content with sequential relevance on Simplenote. It would be immensely beneficial for me to have a drag-and-drop sorting feature—this would allow for a custom ordering of notes, rather than relying on a predefined rule for sorting.

Additionally, it is preferable that the results of this sorting support synchronization across multiple devices.

Why

I often compose content that is sequentially linked, yet I may not write it in order, which leads to the following dilemmas:

  1. If sorted by creation time, I am unable to place notes that were created later into their correct sequence.
  2. If sorted by modification time, any alteration to a historical note—such as correcting a typo or making other changes—disrupts the order, which is quite problematic.
  3. If sorted by name, I am compelled to prefix note titles with numbers like '001'. Moreover, should I wish to alter the position of a note, I must manually adjust the titles of all affected notes, making management exceedingly cumbersome.
