While I'm able to replicate this, this is what I see from the theme description:

4. Create at least a few posts, pages, or portfolio projects. For each item you’d like to feature, use the Tags & Categories area of the editor to add the tag you chose under Customize → Featured Content.
5. Add a featured image to each post, page, or portfolio project you’re featuring.

I suspect that having Tags for Pages is expected as this theme allows you to feature any post, page, or portfolio by using tags.
