Description

A WCPay merchant may have a team member or another party that manages their payments. Currently, only the email address associated with the Stripe Express account or the WPCOM account associated with the WCPay account is eligible to receive support, even though Stripe Express accounts support multiple users.

Some WCPay merchants would like the ability to add an authorized user to their WCPay account so that this second user is eligible for support and can manage issues related to payments, deposits, subscriptions, etc. while still allowing the original account owner to receive the same support.

Acceptance criteria

These are some general ideas that can be changed, removed, or added to as needed:

  • The ability for account owners to add, manage, and remove authorized users.
  • Public documentation outlining how to add, manage, and remove authorized users.
  • A clear UI for support to determine if the user is authorized to receive support for a particular WCPay account.
  • Limitations about what authorized users cannot do, in the event that the authorized account becomes compromised.
  • Documentation in the blog RC about account owners and authorized users.
  • Clear policies and procedures about what authorized users can and cannot do from a support perspective.
