az pipelines release create: it would be nice with a multi-stage pipeline to target an individual piece of the pipeline

when using the 'az pipelines release create' it would be nice to target a particular stage of a pipeline, eg: dev, qa, stage, prod (3 region deploy), it would be especially helpful for when terraforming a stack in a new region, to be able to kick off a deploy to a particular new region to a stack and target the release to that particular stack. right now, I can only kick off the release pipeline but I can say 'deploy to this one stack' but I can hit a deploy button via the UI...so, I know that it must be possible...

I was having a look at the capabilities available with Azure Pipelines today and it doesn't look like you can target a particular stage with Azure Pipelines. Today the recommendation is to use stage conditions and queue time variables to control flow of pipelines across stages. Could you confirm where you are seeing the "deploy" button on a stage in the UI?

Sure. I am on vacation at the moment and away from my computer. However, if you go to a release screen and view your pipeline, if you go to a stage and hover, you can see a deploy or redeploy button appear. If you click it, a deploy is queued. Hi @geverghe! I support the idea proposed by @dwhanger! it would be quite useful to have a capability to redeploy existing release stage from az cli.
For now we can't use az cli to retrigger deployment of existed releases. Only creating new release is allowed.
