Notes from API review 11/12/24

• The URI is to a file and not a container?
  • Yes, but "type" allows containers later
• Does deleting a file, does it delete the file or just detach the reference?
  • Only detaches the reference
• Batches API, an array with more than one element is supported
  • It is the same as the single file API, but multiple elements are not supported
  • Recommend that the single file API take a single source and not an array
  • And anywhere else that OpenAI only accepts a single fileId
• What is the limit on the number of sources that can be specified?
• When the response comes back, does it have fileIds in it?
  • Yes, but getting the fileId will return the data source URI
