Installation on Stampede3 (TACC)

Hi,

I am new to WarpX and am trying to install on Stampede3 (TACC). Does anyone have experience with this? I saw there is a tutorial specifically for Lonestar6 (TACC), I tried adjusting it for Stampede3, but it looks like it requires many changes, I am not sure this is the correct approach?

Thanks for reaching out here!

I did set up the Lonestar6 docs with (for) a colleague that works in Mike Downer's group. I do not personally have access to TACC machines right now, but I am very happy to help you to get a documentation for it merged to WarpX!

The approach would be:
copy the Lonestar6 docs and adjust the files (environment modules, additional install scripts, batch script, readme file) for Stampede3. I would start with the readme file and environment modules, the rest we can do later. Create a new branch from the latest development, add your changes, and open a pull request.

If you like, we can also carve out a session or two on Zoom to look over your setup together to make progress.

Hi Axel,

I did give it another try after you replied and I believe I have gotten it to work. My main interest is the GPU acceleration, so I am excited to try some of the examples later!

I would be happy to have a zoom meeting to discuss further and contribute some documentation for Stampede3.
