Do metadata writes in background

There's no need to pop up a dialog/progress box when writing metadata changes to file. That just interrupts the workflow. These writes can happen in background (queued if necessary) while loading and handling the next image.

Most of the time this happens in the background, but sometimes a dialog box pops up.

What setting do you have for Edit/Preferences/Metadata/Auto-Save Options?

Is it the "This will write the changed metadata into the following files" message?

Is it the "This will write the changed metadata into the following files" message?

All options in "Auto-save options" are checked. In Metadata | Step 1 Options, "Ask before writing to image files" is un-checked. I am not being asked or promoted. It's just a dialog with progress bar that sometimes comes up as it writes to the files.
