Is it possible to replace files in the target repository ONLY if they exist already?

I have a repository that keeps track of all my Docker and Makefile related bootstrapping, and I want to only sync the files if they are already present in the target repository. Creating groups for these specific target directories is a bit of a challenge, as they differ quite a lot. I have read the docs and tried looking for this functionality in the discussions, but I could not find it.
