Suggestion: Obsidian Generators

In beta 1.7.3, there was a bug where when lava broke redstone from above near water, it would turn into obsidian instead of cobblestone. This was fixed in bta and in modern minecraft. I propose re-adding this bug as a feature.

I'm admittedly not too familiar with the specifics, but the functionality for liquid on redstone to generate source blocks should still exist in the game. However, if you can share an example of where it no longer works we could look into it.

This was not fixed in BTA for lava. It was fixed for water however.
