Add a blog or news section with occasional articles from members, first up Greg

Greg has written up a great report of his trip to Turkey (attached) and was wondering whether we could publish it on the website. In addition to his own thoughts/reflections on the trip, he's also written up a great overview of all the different sites that he researched and visited.

The thought was that we might get occasional writeups from, say, Corryong trips, or winch updates or that kind of thing.

If there is an interest in doing more, we could request people write it in plain text (or even markdown) so it's easier to integrate, but for now, copying and pasting the text from the attached PDF is probably easiest.

Let me know if you're keen to take a look at this @NickRoach or @p0las , otherwise I'll take a look at some point (but may not be soon).

We might need to first just check with the committee that we're +1 for having member contributions on the website as opposed to linking to articles written by members elsewhere on the web.

Just chatting with Greg, he was thinking it could just be linked to as a pdf download for anyone interested in traveling to Turkey to fly. Anyway, just a thought. Another option I suggested was publishing it personally in a google doc that's publicly accessible, then it can be linked to from FB or the website or whatever. Not sure what's easiest or best and also scaleable longer-term. Could just do a resources section with links to downloads like this.

I have been thinking about this. I think it is a nice idea to allow members to post things on the website as a kind of "notice board". I think that anything that facilitates the dissemination of information in good faith is a good thing. But, I am not prepared to do this work, I think it is too much work for too little benefit. I think that Greg should post the pdf, or a link to it, in the WhatsApp group and it will be retrievable in the future using WhatsApp's search feature

Right, I'll check with Greg and see if he can make it publicly accessible on google docs (or do so myself). That's simple, and can be linked to permanently from FB or WhatsApp, and if we later have time to create a links page, can be linked to from there.
