LOLIN32 ESP32 with GC9A01

Good Day,

I've been struggling for a few days trying to get the colour and test sample to work.

The display is a Waveshare GC9A01.

The pins from the display are connected to the following pins on the ESP32:

VCC: 5v
GND: Ground
DIN: Pin 23 (labelled as MISI/23)
CS: Pin 5 (labelled as SS/5/LED)
CLK: Pin 18 (labelled as SCK/18)
DC: Pin 4
BL: 3v3

My current config in the User_Setup.h is as follows:

Comment out Line 45 for ILI9341_DRIVER
Uncomment Line 65 for GC9A01_DRIVER

Uncomment Line 93 for TFT_HEIGHT 240
The following SPI pin defines are uncommented:

#define TFT_MOSI 23 // In some display driver board, it might be written as "SDA" and so on.
#define TFT_SCLK 18
#define TFT_CS 5 // Chip select control pin
#define TFT_DC 4 // Data Command control pin

I can see the process running at the start of the loop in the serial monitor, but the display remains blank with only the backlight active.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Can you check whether the SPI pins are sending data using an oscilloscope?
Otherwise, it will be difficult. I have only managed to get one application (clock) running with the ESP32 S2 Mini (compiled as S2 Pico).

And why are you using 5V instead of 3.3V as the VCC for the display?

Unfortunately, I don't own an oscilloscope to attempt this.

I would never have thought that using the 5v pin instead of the 3.3v pin would cuase me so much pain. Thank so you much, I just double checked my pins and moved VCC to a 3.3V pin and its working!
