'space' not fixed width in mono space font?

Hello,

I want characters to line up vertically so I use mono space fonts like Roboto mono and others.
However it seems that tft_espi prints a 'space' smaller then the fixed character width.
I.e. two strings printed like this;
1234567890
1234 67890
.. the space will take less room thereby shifting the remaining chars to the left.
Any ideas what is going wrong?

How did you create the font?

I am guessing it is in the Adafruit format. The space width will be defined in the font file and the used when plotting.

Unfortunately some font conversion tools don't honour the mono spacing and use the character bounding box for spacing.

Here is the part of the font file that specifies the size of each character:

Check your font to verify xAdvance (4th column) is always the same number.
