+clicked_branch_link is always false on Android and iOS

The +clicked_branch_link property is alway false even when I close the app and click on a link which launches the app (on both iOS and Android).
The various other properties are there. Even is_first_session is always false.
I'm using version 5.0.6 on latest iOS (12.2) and Android api level 28 on a pixel.
As an example, here's the link I'm using https://kaji.app.link/hi
