It is weird, normally normals are re-oriented only for 3D meshes:

	if(M.vertices.dimension() >= 3) {
	    orient_normals(M);
	}

Do you still have this problem ?

This is not an active issue, I think I put a workaround for it, but I don't currently use that code. One day at later time I probably will.
