The GFA format spec says > For a haploid sample, HapIndex takes 0. For a diploid or polyploid sample, HapIndex starts with 1 ([source](https://gfa-spec.github.io/GFA-spec/GFA1.html#w-walk-line-since-v11)) But our example GFA files in `tests/data` have diploid samples that start with 0, not 1
