VSS 6.1 preparation

At last meeting it was said that it would be good to release a 6.1 version. I had an AP to check if there are any backward incompatible changes on master that cannot be included in a minor release. At a first glance that does not seem to be the case. Maybe changes to s2dm can be considered backward incompatible but as it is a tool in development that they may be acceptable

As preparation for next VSS meeting, please let us know if you see any changes that you do not think can be included in a minor release

Thanks for organizing the 6.1 prep, @erikbosch.

From our side — #892 (Vehicle.Exterior.RoadSurfaceCondition) — there's nothing backward-incompatible. It adds a single new sensor signal and changes no existing definition, so it's safe to include in a minor release.

As a side note - here we have our current guidelines on what we consider backward compatible/incompatible.

• D: Ok to consider s2dm to be a minor change and include it in 6.1
• Agreed that all current changes on master branch can be included in 6.1 release

Thanks @erikbosch. Per your request to flag PRs we'd consider important for 6.1 — from our side it's the two winter-safety additions, if the group sees them as ready:

• feat(safety): add VisibilityImpairment + RoadIcingState derived-assessment signals #906 — Whiteout + RoadIcingState (Safety branch)
• feat(chassis): add Tire.WinterStatus fitted winter-tire capability attribute #907 — Tire.WinterStatus (Chassis/Wheel)

The driver-facing reason these matter: they give integrators a shared vocabulary for winter road hazards and fitted-tire capability, so a winter-hazard warning is expressible in the standard every consumer already shares rather than each app inventing its own keys — which is what matters when visibility and grip degrade and the warning has to be unambiguous across the stack.

On mechanics: both are purely additive (new signals/attribute, no change to existing definitions), so backward-compatible on the same basis as #892. @vje013 gave an architecture LGTM on both (Safety-branch perspective on #906), and the review notes — including the Swedish winter-tyre point you raised on #907 — are addressed and pushed.

Inclusion and timing are the group's call, of course. Happy to rebase or adjust whatever's useful.
