Code cleanup: enforce consistent naming and indentation style

We need to clean up the Python codebase to follow consistent style guidelines, e.g.

• Refactor functions and variables from camelCase to snake_case
• Standardize indentation (preferably 4 spaces)
• Ensure consistency across all files by running a formatter/linter (e.g., black or ruff).
