So I was previously using git clone to install and update my chia binaries, with varying levels of success... I just noticed that there is a repository for apt for chia, which I am going to use.
What I don't see is a set of instructions after chia-blockchain is installed. I'm running on headless debian (Raspberry PiOS 64) and I see it installs to /usr/bin/ now, which is great.
I used to launch chia as a systemd service before 1.8.0 - Is it possible to do so now? I was stopping the service, upgrading chia, then restarting the service very reliably for about a year.... and only changed to the apt installation version after my sd card failed about 2 days after installing 1.8.0 via git clone...
I've changed my RPi to now boot off of a usb3-connected NVME drive to try and reduce the failure rate of the microSD cards. (I have had to reinstall the OS about 3 times in the last 2 years because of MicroSD failures and then reinstall chia and pull down the blockchain as well.)
