When replacing the blockchain database file you must make sure the Chia software is shutdown fully before doing so, once you restart Chia it may take some time to verify/rebuild the height-to-hash and sub-epoch-summaries files, typically it should happen in less than an hour.

But the first step is to check your debug.log for any hints at to what may be going on, see the other comment for some insight.
